IPStream consuming LLU

The BT Undertakings require MPF and SMPF LLU to be offered on an Equivalence Of Inputs basis from 30 June 2006.  By this date IPStream will need to consume LLU.

BT Wholesale has decided that DataStream will also move to consuming LLU. While this is not a specific requirement of the BT Undertakings, doing it in the same timescales as IPStream will ensure BT Wholesale offers the best solution for all BT and customers alike.

There are a number of activities that need to be in place for the 30 June 2006 deadline. These include changing BT Wholesale systems, processes and procedures and providing new Equivalence of Inputs interfaces between BT Wholesale and Openreach.

Notifications about these changes and changes to XML definitions were sent out to customers at the end of March 2006 along with specific changes to the SDSL products to support delivery over MPF. All activity has been supported by a number of face-to-face events including:

  • Discussions at the ISP forum on 20 April at the BT Tower

  • A workshop on 28 April to explain the differences consuming LLU will have on End User Migrations.

For further information please see the enclosed slide set from the ISP Forum held on 20 April.

Where are we now?

Internal system testing is continuing and we plan to run a pilot with customers from early June. Invitations to join the pilot were sent out during May.

Details of any product changes will be notified via the bi monthly ISP forums and/or by email briefings to customers.  Contact rob.agnew@bt.com for more information on the ISP forums.
