SMPF and MPF EoI Delivery
The Undertakings require SMPF and MPF to be used for asymmetric and symmetric IPStream from 30 June 2006. As well as meeting the obligations set out in the Undertakings by providing an equivalent service to both downstream BT and external Communications Providers, Openreach fully intends to meet customers' requirements and requests by providing as much as possible of the requested functionality within this timeline.
However, in merging the system enhancements with the Undertakings EoI timetable, it's likely that, whilst trying to optimise the overall delivery schedule, we may in fact have over-stretched the delivery targets of the Equivalence Management Platform (EMP) for 30 June 2006.
Over the next few weeks we will therefore be reviewing the EMP project timescales to assess how best we balance meeting customer expectations, fulfilling our obligations in the Undertakings and most importantly providing continuity of service.
