IPStream Consuming LLU for New Customers
By June 30th 2006 IPStream needs to consume LLU from Openreach on identical terms to external CPs, as part of delivering Equivalence of Input for SMPF and MPF LLU.
Because of this, there will be minor changes to the BT Wholesale systems, processes and procedures used to provide these products. In addition we will design new interfaces (firewalls) between BT Wholesale and Openreach systems so that the LLU product (metallic path) is provided to BT Wholesale in an equivalent way to other communication providers.
The biggest impact will be the creation of a business to business gateway between Openreach and BT Wholesale for provision by June 30th 2006.
All the changes are being managed in the standard product launch process, lead by the system design and the process design teams. This has been via customer consultation with industry and by using the standard Openreach SORs process.
What happens next?
BT believes it is on track to complete industry validation and service solution design for the first EoI delivery in June 06 by January 31, as required.
What do customers need to do?
We expect that the customers will be notified of all known product changes at the ISP Forums in February. This will be covered in detail at the ISP Forum to be held at BT Centre on 6th February – contact rob.agnew@bt.com. The ISP Forum is held every 8 weeks. This should give customers sufficient time to make any minor changes to their systems before the delivery date of July 1st 2006.
If necessary, we will run trials before that date and provide full details of activity once they are known. At the moment, customers are not required to do anything.
