BT Successfully Meets First Equivalence of Input Deadline
BT has met its Undertaking for Equivalence of Input (EoI) for IPStream as an input into its retail broadband services by the agreed deadline of December 31st 2005.
This means that our downstream divisions, BT Retail and BT Global Services now use exactly the same systems and processes as are available to other communications providers to interface with BT Wholesale in relation to all service events (such as provision and repair) for new broadband customers.
As part of the move to meeting the deadline for new broadband customers, BT Retail has put systems and processes in place that will also allow it to treat all existing broadband End Users on an equivalent basis although this does not become a formal commitment until December 31st 2006.
What have we done?
To meet the EoI commitment for new broadband customers, we have developed new front end systems and processes in our Retail and Global Service divisions to interface with the same broadband gateway and systems in BT Wholesale as are used by other communications providers. BT Wholesale has increased the capacity of its systems and processes to deal with the increased traffic volumes. Retail and Global Services have also undertaken an extensive training program for their broadband customer advisors in the use of the new EoI systems and processes.
As a result, BT Wholesale’s existing external customers may find that the systems they access have been enhanced. This is a result of the system review and improvement that took place in parallel with the implementation of this Undertaking. BT Wholesale has made minor changes to the Terms and Conditions to enhance the billing options available to our customers.
